Religious Glossary - common terms used related to Religion

Evangelical - Literally, anything contained in the four gospels of the New Testament. Also refers to Protestant churches that emphasize salvation by faith rather then good works, and that individuals are in direct contact with God without the need of mediation or religious education through a priest.

Referring to Protestant Christians who spread the Christian Gospel as found in the biblical New Testament;

A denomination formed to distinguish a more liberal subset of Bible-believing evangelicals from conservative anti-modern fundamentalists in the 1940s and 1950s
